JFE Holdings,Inc. <5411> [TSE-P] announced its financial results (based on IFRS) after the market closed on November 6th (15:30). The consolidated net income for the cumulative second quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2025 (April to September) significantly dropped by 61.4% from the same period last year to 42.4 billion yen.

In addition, the full-year consolidated net income has downwardly by 36.6%, from the previous forecast of 205 billion yen to 130 billion yen (compared to 197 billion yen in the previous period). This changes the outlook from an anticipated profit increase to a projection of a 34.2% decrease in profit.

Based on the first-half performance announced by the company and the full-year plan, our calculation indicates that the consolidated net income for the October to March period (second half) is expected to nearly flat at 87.5 billion yen, up 0.2% from the same period last year.

Due to a decline in performance, the company has reduced its planned annual dividend for the current fiscal year from the original plan of 110 yen to 100 yen (compared to 100 yen in the previous period).

In the most recent three-month period, from July to September (2Q), the consolidated net income significantly dropped to 14.9 billion yen, a 70.4% decrease compared to the same period last year. The operating profit margin drastically worsened from 6.0% in the same period last year to 2.0%.
